Whenever Melina starts something, Beckett’s plans go awry.

Beckett is human. Melina is a bee. Together, they travel through space in a spaceship.

Melina can take human form.

She can speak, too.

But that doesn’t mean she thinks like a human.

Beckett wants to know.

He wants to find out for himself.

Once something catches his attention, he can’t leave it alone.

Space is vast.

But the spaceship they live in is astonishingly small.

Melina’s simplest actions can drive Beckett to his limits.

What Beckett calls worry looks like play to Melina.

The more desperate he becomes, the more delighted she seems.

Even when they look at the same thing, they don’t see it the same way.

Yet Beckett cannot stop being with her.

Some things happen only because someone else is there.

Getting angry.

Searching.

Saying no.

Leaving.

Being together with someone you cannot understand.

Heading for the moon.

Then a voice reaches the two of them.

“If I don’t do it, Melina can’t get there.”

They are together.

Beckett has been through one ordeal after another on their travels through space.

Melina laughs.

What Beckett remembers as desperate moments, Melina remembers as fun.

Beckett still wants to travel with her.

Then one day, he begins to tell his own story.

A white flower. The moon. A red light. A black door that could lead anywhere.

There is so much they don’t know.

And then there is Pol, a baby girl.

Beckett becomes a father, and Melina becomes a mother.

And one night, a red light appears in the garden.

No one knows where it leads.

Beckett decides to go again.

This time, all of them together.
